Video of Brian Moran at Fairfax JJ Dinner

Shortly before he won the straw poll at the Fairfax JJ Dinner, I was able to talk to Brian Moran for a few minutes. Here are some of his comments about the event.

Results of Straw Poll
The star spangled banner was a pleasant surprise.  There was a color guard with a solo vocalist but the crowd of 475 joined in and sang amazingly well.  It was a very special moment.

Senator Webb spoke beautifully in Senator Warner's place about the need to help people who have no voice in the corridors of power and how we don't measure our success at the apex of our society but at the bottom, where the people are.

We ate, what I thought was a surprisingly good chicken dinner.  The candidates spoke.  Brian's speech was clearly the best, he got a standing ovation from a good portion of the crowd. We voted (on numbered ballots) in the straw poll and Brian won with the following results:

FCDC Straw Poll for Governor
Brian Moran - 166 Votes (40.8%)
Creigh Deeds - 123 Votes (30.2%)
Terry McAuliffe - 117 Votes (28.8%)

Since McAuliffe won the St Patrick Day poll in Fairfax in such dramatic style, the question remains, has Terry truly lost a ton of momentum since St Patricks Day or did Terry and his staff rig the St. Pats straw poll?
